It is supposedly "the most secure, technologically advanced site of its kind" and said to be untraceable, unhackable and "the Fort Knox of websites." Girl House is a 2014 slasher movie directed by Trevor Matthews and written by Nick Gordon. It's a welcome throwback to slashers of yore, with a premise reminiscent of the Sorority House/Slumber Party Massacre films. Girlhouse is just another nudie horror flick at first glance, but a strong finale finishes things off with a bloody, satisfying moneyshot. The film fully embraces its love of blood and gore with some stellar practical effects work that serves to heighten the horror. It's a bit predictable and the characters are very unrealistic but kind of like the fact that it has an interesting subject matter...

Slaine rocks as Loverboy, and the girls of Girl House keep the audience at attention at all times. One of the true strengths of the film is Slaine’s portrayal of the killer, Loverboy. In a role that offers very little spoken dialogue, Slaine manages to convey all the painful emotion bottled up within this character and even makes him sympathetic at times. When Loverboy decides to don a skin-tight rubber mask (complete with creepy hair) and invade the Girl House using all his high-tech knowledge and go on a murderous rampage, things really heat up. Loverboy is a fantastic slasher with intimidating size, a horrific mask, and violently aggressive attacks.

[G]enre fans eager for a film to inject some retro-influence into an original modern slasher are likely to see something they like in Girl House. Flawed across the board, its objectification of women permeates every corner of the project, making it a difficult and disgusting watch.
After a deranged fan hacks in to determine the house's location, she finds herself in a terrifying fight for her life. Overall Girl House is a solid rehash of the past with some updates on the slasher film. Using the online world as the means for a killer to do his dirty work but also as a means for the victims to fight back was a brilliant choice. Looking at this film from an objective view may leave some with a negative pre-judgment on what to expect, but those that enter inside will find a great ride with a little something to offer for any horror fan. As Alex watches on, he vows never to go into another online pornography site again and to seek therapy. Kylie runs outside the house, where Ben and Liz show up with the police and a news crew following behind.
Audience Reviews
Instead of making the cameras a gimmick, director Trevor Matthews utilized the different angles and online viewers to create interesting dynamics. There's even a scene where the camera becomes the POV of the viewer and has a nice found footage feeling. The biggest boost is the killer with his drag queen-esque mask that looked like a mixture of Leatherface and Alice, Sweet Alice.
Kylie finds Devon and tells her to stay in her bedroom while she searches for help. Distraught over her disfigurement, Devon suffocates herself with a plastic bag. Ben, together with Kylie's friend Liz Owens, finds the house's real address and races there. The girls of the house have free rein over what they choose to do (or show) in the house, though incentives are in place for the girls who bring in the most traffic. It eventually culminates with Loverboy, who’s been disrespected by several of the girls, breaking into the house where he exacts murderous revenge, Halloween-style. The house’s newest resident/employee is the comely co-ed Kylie (Ali Corbin), desperately in need of extra money while putting herself through college.
A traumatized Kylie tearfully begs Ben to stop the reporters from filming her, to which he complies. The film ends with Kylie breathing deeply and the screen cuts to black. Girl House is a 2014 Canadian horror slasher film directed by Trevor Matthews and written by Nick Gordon. It stars Ali Cobrin playing a woman in an X-rated reality web series and Slaine as the psychopath who stalks her. Director Trevor Matthews stages the violent mayhem with admirable profiency, and the film’s target audience is bound to come away reasonably satisfied, if not fully satiated.
They put his picture with a handwritten caption that reads "What a stud" on the bulletin board. One of their thousand loyal watchers is a man who goes by the handle "loverboy" - a creepy loner who happens to be very good with computers. When Loverboy is rejected by several of the girls in the house, he decides to track down the "untraceable" Girl House and put on his own show, hacking and slashing his way through the house's occupants. Builds to an intense final act that pays off everything its established about the house and the girls. It has a great riff on the classic 'look behind you' moments of horror movies. He breaks into the place housing the website's server and kills the technical team.
But not to worry, there’s bound to be a similar violence/nudity laden gorefest arriving just around the corner. Neither sexy nor scary, this low-budget horror movie aims to shock viewers with its revelation that the online porn industry isn't as secure as it seems. For a slasher film, there is suitable attention to detail and a reputable level of respect for all the characters.
Kylie is introduced to security guards Steve and Big Mike, as well as fellow Girl House residents Kat, Devon, Janet, Heather, and Mia. And, of course, we must mention some of the other girls populating Girl House. One is more beautiful than the next and each puts her own mark on the film. Alyson Bath is featured as Devon, and she’s the star of the most thrilling and horrific scene in the movie. Other occupants Heather (Elysia Rotaru), Kat (Alice Hunter), Janet (Casty Ballesteros), Mia (Nicole Arianna Fox), and Anna (Zuleyka Silver) all bring something different to add to the thrills of Girl House. In an attempt to make some extra cash while away at College, Kylie moves into a house that streams content to an X-rated website.
